Trump Promises to Increase Philly Murder Rate with ACA Repeal

In a speech this afternoon at the Loews Hotel, President Donald Trump promised that the repeal of the Affordable Care Act will result in an increase in murders in Philadelphia.

“These people who lose their health insurance, they’re going to die. In a year alone, the rate will soar. Here in Philadelphia the murder rate has been steady, but it will be terribly increasing after the full repeal of Obamacare,” he said, using the popular nickname for the Affordable Care Act.

The repeal of the ACA has been a Republican promise since it was passed by Congress in 2010. The murder rate in Philadelphia has been steadily dropping over the past decade, but the President’s idea to include deaths due to loss as insurance could increase those numbers for 2017.

“I’m just glad we finally have a President that’s so transparent,” remarked Dave Giba, a Bucks County resident, as he was trying to fight his way through the sea of protestors in Center City.

It was estimated that thousands of people gathered outside the Loews Hotel to protest, but with no leadership, it was impossible to tell why they were protesting.

“Let’s wait and see,” Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey when asked for comment, “maybe it will turn out okay.”
