“Pass a Budget” Rally in Harrisburg Draws Two Protesters

A rally today at the state capitol building showed the public’s dissatisfaction with the way the both parties have handled the budget impasse. A crowd of two men wearing orange puffy vests and donning hand-made signs gathered on the sidewalk.

Josh Arbuckle and Jeremy Denton drove all the way from Reading, PA for the event. They said it was their first time in Harrisburg. “It’s usually not worth the trip over here, ” explained Denton, “but for something as important as this, we made the trip. It cost us each a sick day!”

Since July, the Commonwealth has been running without a budget. Neither the Republican-controlled legislature nor the newly-elected Democratic governor Tom Wolf have shown any sign of backing down.

When asked about their thoughts on the budget negotiations, Arbuckle said, “Oh, we thought this was the Back to the Future party. I told you it was South 3rd St!”
