Some are calling it the fight of the century. Others are calling it business as usual in Harrisburg. But everyone agrees that it will rake in a ton of cash.
The upcoming fight pits newcomer Governor Tom Wolf against the unshakable Republican-controlled State Legislature. It’s got all the regular crowd-pleasers: severance taxes, fuzzy accounting, and infrastructure minutia. We could even see a liquor-privatization knock-out from the Republicans.
The original budget was rejected on July 1st, and according to Pennsylvania tradition, they have exactly two months to negotiate on friendly terms. With no sign of progress, we’re sure to see them show up in the ring on September 1st to settle the budget once and for all.
FOX Sports 1 expects a record-breaking 1.7 million viewers to tune in, with audience members more than willing to pay the $60 charge. “It’s a great value when you realize how big this fight is gonna be,” says Jim Costa of South Philly; “I haven’t been this excited about a match since the infamous 24-hour partial government shutdown in 2007.”
